Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently been at the center of military, economic, and intelligence attacks by foreign powers, particularly the United States and its regional allies. These conflicts have extended far beyond conventional warfare.
The large-scale invasion of Iranian territory by Ba'athist Iraq on September 22, 1980, was launched with direct financial, military, and intelligence support from the United States, the Soviet Union, France, and the Zionist regime. This war, considered the longest conventional conflict of the 20th century, was designed to collapse the nascent Iranian government and control the energy resources of the Persian Gulf.
After the official end of the war, Western strategy shifted from direct confrontation to proxy warfare, sabotage operations, and economic pressure. Support for terrorist groups, infiltration along western and southern borders, and arms supply to separatist factions have been integral to this long-term strategy.
"The war against Iran never ended; its tools merely shifted from battlefields to cyber warfare rooms, crippling sanctions, and targeted assassinations."
